David P. Thiruselvam


David Thiruselvam began his legal career at the The Defenders Association of Philadelphia in 1991. He spent 10 years at the Defenders representing clients in a variety of cases involving drug trafficking, sexual assault, rape, kidnapping, assault (shootings, stabbings) and attempted murder.

Mr. Thiruselvam left the office in 2001 and worked for civil defense firm, where he defended clients who were sued for injuries usually involving motor vehicle and slip and fall cases. He defended clients in arbitrations and jury trials in the three and a half years that he worked for the defense firm before leaving to work on the plaintiff’s side.

After working for two Plaintiff personal injury law firms, Mr. Thiruselvam started his own law firm, which is dedicated to represent victims of crimes in civil cases, many of whom have been shot, stabbed, raped, burned and sexually assaulted.

Mr. Thiruselvam has recovered many six and seven figure verdicts and settlements for his clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries, often resulting complex civil lawsuits. Mr. Thiruselvam has a license to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, and has tried over sixty jury trials to date.

Mr Thiruselvam serves on the Board of the National Crime Victim Bar Association, which is an organization dedicated to seeking civil justice for victims of crime as well as the Board of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association which is an organization dedicated to assist plaintiffs’ counsel in securing civil justice for their injured clients.

Mr. Thiruselvam, was born in India and came to the United States when he was very young. He spends most of his free time travelling with his family. He also enjoys going on “bucket list” trips with his friends such as Running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania.
